BCC Goes International.
APRIL saw myself and June McGuinness travelling to the Baltics with Cormack Consultancy Baltic Limited (CCB) a UK based innovation and commercialisation consultancy specialising in the Baltic market.
The week was spent visiting Colleges and Universities to gain a better understanding of the education system in Latvia and to determine if opportunities could be identified to work together in the future.
We travelled from the capital Riga to the Latgale region to visit Malnava College, the most Eastern point in the EU and only 12KM from the Russian Border, according to our host Juris Bozvics, Director at the College. A rural College like ourselves we discovered a wee gem where we hope to be involved in exchange programmes for staff and candidates to enhance their knowledge and skills.
We have identified further opportunities to work in Latvia and look forward to spending time getting to know more about the country and the people and providing opportunities for Borderers to do so also.
