Licencees Get Ready for September 2009.
On 1 September 2009 The Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 comes into force. The Act requires that all staff responsible for authorising the sale of alcohol are suitably trained.
In preparation for the September deadline, 120 candidates have already undertaken the City and Guilds/Servewise Certificate for Scottish Personal Licence Holder and with a 97% success rate are well on their way to meeting the requirements of the Act.
To support Licensed premises in the Borders, BC Consultants in conjunction with their Community Safety Partners – Lothian and Borders Police, Borders Health Board and Scottish Borders Council are offering a series of courses throughout the Borders during 2009.
The course is approved by ILA Scotland thus enabling individuals to apply for funding to support the training – for further details please contact 0808 100 9000.
To make sure that you have the necessary training in place for September 2009 please contact sbell@borderscollege.ac.uk or 01896 662571.
