Provides an option for individuals who require the full set of seven ECDL Modules.

ECDL Advanced

This qualification brings together the Advanced Units to create a unique qualification for power users.

Candidates awarded British Computer Society certificate on successful completion of all five modules, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Presentations, Database, Improving Productivity using IT.

ECDL Extra

A level 2 qualification designed to assess the core applications that a user requires.

Synopsis:

Candidates awarded British Computer Society certificate on successful completion for all four modules, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Presentations, Improving Productivity using IT. Each module is assessed by a 45-minute exam, which must be taken at one of our registered test centres.

ECDL Essentials

A qualification that has been designed to give users a basic introduction to computing with relevant skills in using the basic tools required for an IT user today.

Synopsis:

Candidates awarded British Computer Society certificate on successful completion of all three modules, IT Users Fundamentals, Using Email and the Internet, Security for IT Users. Each module is assessed by a 45-minute exam which must be taken at one of our registered test centres. Self study with tutor support.

ECDL Test Only

The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) is an internationally recognised qualification and is accreditated by the British Computer Society (BCS).

The ECDL Syllabus consists of seven modules designed for learners who already have basic computing skills.  The assessments cover the key concepts of computing.

1.  IT Security for Users

2.  Using the computer and managing files

3.  Word Processing

4.  Spreadsheet

5.  Database

6.  Presentation

7.  Using the Internet and Email

Synopsis:

There are no formal entry requirements.  However, although this is a foundation course, you need to have basic computer skills and therefore the course is not suitable for complete beginners.

This test-only option allows individuals to study at their own pace and attend a testing session which has a duration of 45 minutes.

A one -off charge for registration with the awarding body is required prior to testing and certification at a cost of £32.  Should you have to complete a resit the charge for this would be £14.50 per resit.
